How will the school let me know if they have any concerns about my child’s learning in school?

If your child is identified as not making progress the school will set up a meeting to discuss this with you in more detail and to:

  • Listen to any concerns you may have.
  • Plan any additional support your child may receive.
  • Discuss with you any potential referrals to outside professionals to support your child’s learning.

These meetings will initially be with the class teacher and then with the school SENDCo as required.

If your child is identified as having a special education need, as detailed in our policy, you and your child will be involved in creating a SEND Support Plan to create outcomes and a plan for provision to meet your child’s needs.  Working collaboratively with you and your child is very important to us.
